Senior Embedded Engineer (f/m)

Do you enjoy taking on responsibilities and making an impact with your work? Can you fall in love with Piavita and the team? We can’t wait to hear from you!

These will be your tasks

  • Developing software for an ultra-low power device based on the nRF52 SoC
  • Test, debug and support of our current and future products
  • Interfacing different peripherals and sensors
  • Develop test cases/scripts for both hardware design and firmware verification of our current and future products
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable system-level code
  • Integrate the adequate safety and security technologies
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions for these problems
  • Assist in production by resolving design-related issues
  • Working in an agile environment
  • Research solutions and prepare documentation as required
  • Work with other engineers and departments to research potential useful or alternate algorithms

You’re offering these qualifications

    • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
    • At least 5 years work experience in embedded/firmware development using C++/C
    • In-depth ARM processor knowledge
    • Solid Knowledge of Cortex M4 Architecture is a big plus (preferably nRF52840 and nRF52832)
    • Knowledge of communication low level protocols (I2C, SPI, UART etc)
    • Experience in design and development of test framework for embedded platforms
    • Solid understanding of compilers, assemblers, linkers and debuggers and their role in developing embedded software
    • Solid understanding of the concepts of real time operating systems
    • Good understanding of Hardware Design, i.e. ability to understand and follow hardware diagrams and schematics
    • Ability to work independently
    • Fluent in English; German is an advantage

These will be your tasks

  • Design and develop applications for a customized hardware
  • Build and adjust an embedded Linux system
  • Test, debug and support of our current and future products
  • Assist in production by resolving design-related issues
  • Research solutions and prepare documentation as required
  • Work with other engineers and departments to research potential useful or alternate algorithms

You’re offering these qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar degree
  • At least 5+ years of experience in an embedded firmware development using node.js/C++/C in a linux environment
  • Experience in board-bring up
  • Solid understanding Linux kernel and bootloader development
  • Knowledge about Opensource tools and community
  • Experience in distribution creators such as Yocto, Buildroot
  • Experience in design and development of test framework for embedded platforms
  • Solid understanding of Kernel driver
  • Good understanding of Hardware Design, i.e. ability to understand and follow hardware diagrams and schematics
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluent in English; German is an advantage

  • Developing of latest mobile web- technologies and high value Apps to link these on the exisiting company infrastructure
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of iOS apps and software components
  • Engage in the full life-cycle of a product, from early concepts and prototypes to full deployment
  • Define clean, safe and reusable code
  • Promote good software engineering practices
  • Actively participate in the team’s and company’s agile processes
  • Participate in combined development with iOS and Android teams in various locations

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining complex iOS apps
  • Excellence in Swift and Objective-c programming, focused on code quality and ease of maintenance
  • Excellent knowledge of modern software engineering principles like continuous integration, code reviews, test-driven development, refactoring and incremental delivery
  • Knowledge of networking (REST and Web Services), experience with UIKit, Core Data, and the iOS SDK
  • Debugging and performance testing skills via LLDB and Instruments
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • English language proficiency, written and spoken
  • German language skills above B1 is an advantage
