The latest release of the Piavet app is here! And it comes with a brand new look and new functionality to help vets stay better connected to their patients, no matter where they are.
Our dedicated customer support team has been diligently tracking feedback via the newly implemented vet and user board groups since they were initiated earlier this year. These insightful meetings result in the prioritization of new features and functionality. Then it lands on our product developers’ desks for design, development, testing, and finally, the release to users.
Some recent priorities have been around the functionality of the app. So, we’re excited to announce that our product team has been working tirelessly over the past several weeks to bring big improvements to the Piavet app for iPhone. (Note: the same updates for iPad are in development now!)

The Piavet app allows equine veterinarians and practitioners to easily start vital sign measurements, view real-time and historical health data, and access patient and client information on an iPad or iPhone. Remote monitoring with the Piavet System gives you objective, uninfluenced insights into patient health, day or night, without disturbance. With the Piavet app, vets can take their patients on the go and put those hours spent doing manual checks back into their day!
Piavet App Version 2.0
Version 2.0 of the Piavet app brings some exciting new functionality as well as a beautiful new design to the iPhone app. The brand new look is now 100% aligned with the web-based platform that our users are most familiar with. This means seamless transition from your desktop or laptop to your iOS mobile device without missing a beat (or a breath!).

There are a lot of things to be excited about, and we go into detail below. But first, here’s a list of what’s new with version 2.0:
– Ability to receive a phone call for triggered alerts
– Live alarm list
– Brand new interface that matches WebApp
– New WebApp-style widget for running measurements
– Full recordings, and detailed views of patients and owners with CRUD (create, review, update, delete) functionality
– Card index search
– Patient timeline integration
Alerts & Notifications
Die Hauptkomponenten first time we released triggered alert notifications, users gained the ability to receive an SMS if their customized parameters were breached during a running measurement. While this gave our users increased peace of mind, many were keen to also have the option to get a phone call.
So, included in this release is the ability to now choose to receive a phone call for triggered alerts!When vitals range outside the customized parameters four or more times within 15 minutes, an automated phone call is triggered. This helps vets to respond faster and treat patients at the onset of complications. From the tab bar, simply go to Settings and click on Notifications to enable either SMS or phone call alerts. And don’t forget, you still receive in-app notifications, which are easily found with the bell icon.
In addition, this version introduces a live alert list on the chart page. This means that alerts triggered during a running measurement show up in real time when in chart view. The list is also available when looking at historical measurements. Check out this tutorial video to see it in action. Below are screenshots of live alerts in the current iPad version, as well as the new iPhone app. (Note: the iPad design will change with the next release).
User Experience
In terms of user experience, this release can’t get any better! The iPhone has a brand new look—now fully aligned with the web-based platform our users know and love. Vets can now view full recordings, and see detailed views of patient and owner profiles.
In addition, the newly implemented running measurement widget allow users to see live data during running measurements. (Note: The next release will include a new widget for historical measurements!)
Patient Management
The Piavet Platform’s patient timeline view that our users are accustomed to on the web-based platform is now available on iPhone for a complete patient management experience.
With new CRUD functionality, users can now create, update, view, and delete patients and owners right in the app. And, for the first time, users can also edit historical measurement characteristics, such as the measurement name, the patient, and the assigned reason, for example. This allows veterinary clinic staff to manage their own measurement data and keep accurate patient records.
Finally, users now have the ability to search the card index for past recordings and patient and owner information. Just find the Card Index button in the tab bar and use the new search functionality to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Important: The update is not automatic. So if you already have the Piavet app, please go to the App Store to get the latest version!
