Get to know the Piavet System

WHAT IS THE PIAVET SYSTEM?

The Piavet System is Piavita’s AI- and machine learning-assisted measurement system that aids vets in diagnostic decision-making by providing long-term recordings of equine vital signs and related health parameters. So what does that really mean, you ask? It means that by simply fitting a horse with a surcingle-like belt and palm-sized measuring device, you can view a full ECG, RR intervals, heart rate, body temperature, respiration rate, and activity—all in one place, remotely and wirelessly. 

WHAT MAKES UP THE PIAVET SYSTEM?

The Piavet System is made up of four main product components that work together to give vets wireless, remote access to patient vital signs.

The Piavet Measuring Device

The Piavet Measuring Device is a wireless monitoring device with 12 integrated sensors that enables vets and other health practitioners to take non-invasive, live measurements of equine vital signs. It’s light weight (<0.5 lb./160g), waterproof, durable, rechargeable and best of all, horse friendly. The device fits easily into the side of the Piavet Belt to measure vital signs through the horse’s coat—with no need for clipping.

The Piavet Belt

The Piavet Belt fits around the horse’s girth area like a surcingle. It’s hand-made from soft but durable material for comfortable, long-term wear. Although it is machine washable, simply spray the belt with rubbing alcohol for quick disinfection between uses. The belt’s silicone placeholder houses the measuring device, and once it’s clipped in, the whole set up is extremely durable—it’s even roll-proof! Velcro straps secure the belt over the wither and the clip at the base of the girth area is easily adjusted to fit horses and ponies of all sizes.

The Piavet Base Station

The Piavet Base Station uses Bluetooth to connect the Piavet Measuring Device to the internet (via LAN or integrated mobile SIM), and transfers the measurement data to Piavita’s cloud server in real time. This data transfer allows you to view the live measurements on the Piavet Platform or App from any location. The hardware is lightweight (250 grams) and comes with a mounting plate for easy installation on any suitable surface at your facility.

The Piavet Platform

The Piavet Platform is a feature-packed, online monitoring platform and patient management system where you can access all your live and previously-recorded measurements. Start and stop a measurement, watch it live or view it later, and store patient information—all in one place. You can add notes, share information with colleagues, set up smart alerts, and much more. 

WHAT’s in the box?

When vets receive the Piavet System, they unbox more than just a product. They open up possibilities that didn’t exist before in their daily practice, like the ability to monitor two patients at the same time, remotely and wirelessly, and customize alerts for every measurement. One horse in surgery and another in the ICU? Keep tabs on both while you tackle other tasks.
